Reasons You Should Orgasm More Often
There’s can be a certain stigma around sex and masturbation in our society. Even reading the word “masturbate” may make you feel uncomfortable. And I think much of the reason for that is because it’s not talked about enough!
Growing up, we spent every Sunday going to church and while there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that, I don’t think it always lends to sex positive points of view. I remember even taking part in a bible study vowing that I wouldn’t have sex until marriage….oops.
Having an orgasm is a part of life and has some pretty powerful health benefits and more importantly, is nothing to feel ashamed of. If you’re looking for an excuse to get intimate with your partner more often or to have some alone time with yourself…I’ll give you 5 excuses!
Circulation & Cardiovascular Health:
If you spend much of your day sitting at a desk, you could really benefit from the big O. Orgasms increases circulation to the pelvis, which helps with imbalances and distributes nutrients/hormones where your body needs them. It also helps with overall circulation and can decrease risk of hypertension and heart disease.
Improve Skin and Gives Youthful Glow:
There’s something about that post-sex glow. Sex/masturbation gets your blood pumping and helps increase blood flow to deliver oxygen to your skin. It also releases oxytocin, reducing stress hormones which can increase oil production in the skin leading to clogged pores and breakouts. Lastly, an orgasm can reduce signs of aging by boosting estrogen and collagen. Hello clear complexion!
Relieve pain and inflammation:
Oxytocin, endorphins, serotonin, and dopamine are released during orgasm and can counter the effects that cortisol has on the body. It has been shown to help relieve pain including headaches, migraines and pain from PMS like cramping!
Relieves Stress & Anxiety:
Much for the same mechanisms as above and likely not a surprise to anyone, orgasms make you feel more relaxed and at ease. Chronic stress can impact not only mental health, but also physical. By releasing those feel-good hormones you’re not only easing anxiety but counteracting the physical effects of cortisol as well.
Boost immune and decrease mortality:
Orgasms can improve symptoms from autoimmune diseases and boost fertility! This is because sex sends signals to your body that you are ready for conception. DHEA levels is an “anti-aging” hormone that improves muscle strength, bone density, sexual satisfaction and overall health reducing mortality risk.
