My Story


In 2019, I went off hormonal birth control after having been on it for 7 years. It was arguably a very bad time to stop taking it as I had just moved across the country to be with my boyfriend at the time. But something didn’t feel right, I was more depressed and anxiety ridden than I’d ever been (which is saying something considering I’m naturally a little ball of stress), my libido was non-existent, and I had begun to gain weight without having changed much. So, I quit birth control, without doing any research on how it would impact me afterwards (because I was told there weren’t any long term effects)..

Let me tell you, Post Birth Control Syndrome is no joke.

My symptoms had eased slightly and my period did return rather quickly, but after about 6 months, along with the return of the symptoms above, my skin was breaking out, I was gaining weight like never before, I had trouble concentrating at work and was having to leave work due to headaches and being physically ill on my period, and more.

I knew something wasn’t right, so I started researching potential causes and it dawned on me that the tiny little pill that I’d been taking for 7 years had done a lot more damage than I had been lead to believe. After identifying my specific issues, I was able to get to a point where my periods were painless (the first time I had ZERO symptoms I cried because it was nothing like I’d ever experienced before!), my acne cleared up, I saw drastic improvements in my mental health, I was getting better sleep, my sex drive was back, and I had energy throughout the day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there labs included with the course?

I’ve partnered with Precision Analytics to order DUTCH Complete Hormone tests for anyone who is interested, who has purchased a higher level plan*. The DUTCH test is a dried urine test that measures sex hormones, adrenal hormones, and other important markers and can be a helpful guide after implementing foundations from the course. *This can be done later on if you decide you’d like to have this test done.

Are supplement recommendations provided in the course?

While there are general recommendations provided in the course, if you choose the advanced packages you will receive a more tailored protocol. It’s difficult to know what supplements to take if you don’t first test levels to find out what you need. The recommendations in the course are safe for anyone, but more specific supplementation protocols are only available with lab testing.

What if I have questions?

I am available for questions at hello@thebalancedbuzz.com and you can join the Nourished Foundations facebook group because others might have similar questions! Note: please do not ask for specific medical advice - without a complete history I’m unable to give proper recommendations unless we are working together 1-on-1.

How long will it take to see results?

This depends on your medical history and to what extent you implement the advice in the course. If you haven’t seen any results in 3-6 months, reach out to me and we can discuss next steps and possibly a refund (*refunds do not apply to DUTCH tests however). This is if you can provide evidence that you’ve implemented the steps in the course.

What is the recommended pace for this course?

You get lifetime access to the course with all future updates and add-ons, meaning you can take as much time as you need on each module. I would recommend taking at least 1-2 weeks for each module to start honing in on the lessons in that particular module. There’s also a survey at the end where you can make recommendations about what you’d like to learn more about for future modules and updates.

What is included in the 40-minute call?

The 40-minute call will be proceeded by a questionnaire to get a better idea of your particular lifestyle/habits. We will go over your DUTCH test results, diet/lifestyle recommendations and any supplement recommendations based off of your results. This is also a time to ask any questions you might have!
